The London Project
At the beginning of the year Volans hosted a series of ‘One Planet London’ brainstorming sessions with friends and partners, looking at how we could help to develop London as a global hub of sustainability and social innovation activity. These sessions highlighted a desire to improve connectivity and collaboration opportunities across pre-existing, sector specific networks.
In summary, it turned out that finance professionals wanted to work with clean tech folk, who wanted to connect to design experts whilst engaging with the best and brightest of London’s social entrepreneurs. We are in the process of designing an innovative web platform that we believe will get to the heart of the problem, encouraging people to break out of their professional silos and actively seek new ways of working together. Stay tuned over the coming months to find out more.
Working with Colin Le Duc of Generation Investment Management, we will convene a TEDx event on the theme in the first half of 2012.
