Recyclebank in Fast Company’s Most Innovative Rankings
Fast Company has just named Recyclebank – one of the portfolio of some 30 organizations we help though serving on Boards or Advisory Boards – as number 37 on its annual list of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies.
“This is a terrific honor,” says Ian Yolles, Recyclebank’s Chief Sustainability Officer. ”The list includes companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon, Starbucks, Twitter and mavericks like Telsa Motors, Airbnb, LinkedIn, Square, Kickstarter, PayPal…and Recyclebank!” The profile references Recyclebank’s new partnership with Waste Management, showcasing the success of their Corpus Christi and Cincinnati projects, and illustrates the value for members.
The editors said that to create 2012’s World’s Most Innovative Companies list, its editorial team analyzed information on thousands of businesses across the globe. They said it wasn’t just about revenue growth and profit margins—it was more than that. They strived to “identify creative models and progressive cultures to define the many forms of innovation that exist across the business landscape.”
One key reason why Volans is delighted to be involved is that the Recyclebank model provides a strong steer on new ways to drive behavioral change, an area which a growing number of business leaders are beginning to see as crucial to building critical mass in the sustainability space.
