Social Innovation in Asia

Volans and Asia House teamed up last week for a signature conference on Social Innovation in Asia, focused on new business models and thought leadership trends in social enterprise, impact investment and capacity building in fast-growing Asian markets.

John Elkington gave the keynote speech, followed by two panels moderated by Charmian Love and Amanda Feldman, respectively.

Panel 1: Corporate Responsibility in Asia explored the transition from traditional CSR to Social Innovation within large multinationals, with perspectives from M Rajendran at the Arcelor Mittal Foundation, Chris West at the Shell Foundation and Andres Larriera at Hitachi Europe.

Panel 2: Impact Investment in Asia brought together Vinay Nair of the Acumen Fund, Jay Barrymore of Impact Investment Partners, Kelly Clark of Marmanie and Dato Kim Tan of SpringHill Management to discuss the wide spectrum of impact investment, and opportunities for development of this market in Asia.

A full summary report of the event can be found here: Social Innovation Summary Report.

It was our pleasure to work with Asia House on this project, and we look forward to building this strong partnership in the years ahead.
